Gwenda Micheals: I would do the 4 year college thing and get your Bachelor's then do your Master's. Then worry about the rest.

Whereas being an art director for a boutique requires some nonconventional learning and exposure to art worldwide to affect people relationships successfully
Deangelo Marchak: The ones I know worked their way up the ranks from graphic design jobs. You should understand layout and also packaging design, cost effective marketing, and how to interact with everyone from the big client to the guy running the printing press.
