Jonelle Eligio: i'd determine you try that component formerly you purchase it as 50$ is kinda much low priced. I even have countless cb radios one is a handheld and that they arent very solid the two way you seem at it. I do like midland however and in case you in basic terms want some mile of radius (2 in case your fortunate) %. that component up and take it.

Otherwise, repeaters are used for coverage across a large area, such as a city and such.Point-to-point, without a repeater, I've talked many miles, with an external base antenna or a couple miles with the stock antenna.
