Frederic Engellant: Teacher requirements vary from state to state and from program to program. For a "teacher" position, many programs now require a 4 year degree, but you can often get an "assistant teacher" position with a 2 year degree or a CDA. And teaching self-care is a big part of teaching preschool. We teach them to wash their hands and faces, brush their teeth, change their own clothes, tie their shoes, and we teach appropriate use of utensils and table manners.
