Karl Samiec: dey both take skill strategy and cunnin wits to win not like checkers which is 4 kids
Darrin Hixenbaugh: This likely does not have much to do with the pool leagues site being up. Rather, you are using Internet Explorer and/or Microsoft Java. Mozilla Firefox is much more able to handle the Y!Games applet, and Sun Java does not freeze up like Microsoft Java does. Download Sun Java to replace Microsoft Java if that's what you are currently using.

Hal Palowoda: the same thing that chess and a war has is they both need strategy to winbut don't relate the pieces to real life characters like the bishop cause real bishops are at a church not at the war
Curt Broadhead: boardgamegeek.com has lots of resources you can filter by number of players, types of games, and more. Also you can look up games you know ! and get recommendations on other games of the same type. For m! y money, I love Dominion. Its a fun little card game that changes every time you play cause you don't use the same cards all the time. It might take a little braining at first but trust me it is worth it.
Alden Soldano: They're both commonly used in overstretched metaphors. :-)
Ileen Oshell: Discover the world of designer games:http://www.gateplay.com/new-board-gamer.aspx"Most people, especially in North America, think of Monopoly, Life, Clue and Sorry when they think of board games. Unfortunately, they also think "bored" games. In the 1980s, when America was distracted by video games, Germany began publishing "designer" games that set them apart from traditional board games. Designer games (also referred to as German-style games or Eurogames) offer shorter game length (many last between 20-60 minutes with time estimates for game play printed right on the box!), more strategy, thoughtful gameplay, superior quality game components and mechanics designed by world ! renowned board game designers. These games leave you wanting more, rather than wishing it would end. In fact, after you've played a few designer games, you may never play Monopoly again!"My favorites:Thebeshttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/30869Ticket To Ridehttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/9209Power Gridhttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2651Empire Builderhttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/168The Pillars of the Earthhttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/244801960: The Making of the Presidenthttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/27708/1960-...Twilight Strugglehttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/12333/twili...Cubahttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/30380/cubaMr. Jackhttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/21763/mr-ja...Scotland Yardhttp://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/438/scotlan......Show more
