Question about general car insurance?

Shane Getler: I suggest one to visit this site where onel can get rates from different companies: http://HELP-INSURE.NET/index.html?src=2YAgnfIEn68F...RE :Question about general car insurance?I'm doing a Statistics Lab based off car insurance and i'm a little confused. I'm supposed to make a statement to my boss about charging higher or lower car insurance based on the rating the cars get.So, for the larger, and safer the car is, should I tell my boss to RAISE the insurance prices, or lower the insurance prices?I'm a little confused on the correct way to do it? Safer = Higher insurance or lower insurace? and WHY?!?!?Follow 5 answers...Show more

Tyrone Disanti: I would assume that the more safety features a vehicle has, the lower the premiums would be for the insured. If the car is safer, there is a lower risk of accidents and injuries from accidents, therefore less money the insurance company will have to pay out on claims.

Von Houskeeper: Your question makes little sense. Insurers use multiple data points to rate car insurance, for example, age of the driver, driving record of the driver, area the driver lives in, average cost of the repairs to a specific car . . it goes on and on. Larger cars are not necessarily safer. So what are you trying to rate?
